Minister for Water Resources Development Nimmala Ramanaidu has announced that several multinational companies (MNCs) are coming forward to set up their units in Andhra Pradesh, promising to generate significant employment opportunities in the coming days.
The Minister was speaking as the chief guest at a Job Mela organised by the AP Skill Development Corporation, National Career Service, and BRR & DJR Degree College in Palakollu on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to creating over 20 lakh jobs in the next five years. Highlighting Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts, he stated that the government is focused on bringing world-class technology, industries, and entrepreneurs to Andhra Pradesh to secure a bright future for the youth.
He emphasised the government’s priority on education and employment, adding that job fairs are being held in colleges to help students secure jobs directly, eliminating the need to search for opportunities post-graduation.
Nimmala Ramanaidu urged students to make the most of these opportunities and contribute to the state’s development. He noted that the coalition government’s initiatives are attracting major investments, supported by a special industrial policy aimed at fostering entrepreneurship in every household.
The Minister also highlighted the government’s ongoing ‘skill census’ to assess the skills of youth across sectors and the establishment of ‘Skill Hubs’ in all 175 Assembly constituencies to provide technical training to unemployed youth. He assured that these efforts, along with skill development programmes, would enable the youth to secure jobs quickly.
Additionally, he announced the notification for filling 16,500 teacher posts through the DSC examination by the next academic year. Free coaching for 700 DSC aspirants is being provided by the Dharma Rao Foundation.
Earlier, the Minister distributed appointment letters to selected candidates and congratulated them. The event was attended by RDO Dashiraju, District Skill Development Officer P Lokman, District Employment Officer B Varalakshmi, and other officials.
