Must read

Cold winters can lead to dryness, roughness, and sensitivity of skin. The following ingredients are chosen for their ability to restore moisture, nourish the deeper layers of skin, and thus counter the ill effects of harsh winters on skin. They align with the principle of “snehana” (oleation) as per Ayurveda, and work synergistically to combat winter skin issues.
1. Sesame Oil
l Properties: Rich in ceramides, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids.
l Benefits: Deeply moisturizes and nourishes the skin, protects the lipid barrier, and prevents dryness. Its warming quality makes it ideal for combating Vata dosha imbalance during winter.
2. Almond Oil
l Properties: Packed with Vitamin E and fatty acids.
l Benefits: Helps hydrate and repair dry, flaky skin, promotes elasticity, and gives a natural glow. Balances Vata and Pitta doshas. Being rich in Vitamin E, almond oil locks hydration in the cells, making your skin soft and bouncy even in winter.
3. Saffron (Kumkum)
l Properties: Rich in antioxidants and carotenoids.

5. Ghee (Clarified Butter)

l Benefits: Provides intense hydration, reduces flakiness, and heals chapped skin. Balances Vata and Pitta doshas.
6. Turmeric (Haridra)

7. Sandalwood (Chandana)
l Properties: Cooling, soothing, and moisturizing with natural emollients.
l Benefits: Locks in moisture, soothes irritation, and reduces inflammation. It is particularly useful for balancing Pitta dosha.
8. Honey (Madhu)
l Properties: Humectant with natural antibacterial properties.
l Benefits: Retains skin moisture, exfoliates gently, and heals winter-related cracks. Balances Kapha and Vata doshas.
