Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials and government employees to adhere to a ‘people-first’ policy, keeping public opinion and expectations as their guiding principles.
During a review meeting at the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister emphasised that the feedback from beneficiaries at the grassroots level would hold paramount importance.
“The word of the beneficiaries is final, irrespective of what anyone else says,” Naidu stated.
Expressing satisfaction with the implementation of government policies in certain departments, the Chief Minister commended officials for adopting best practices.
However, he noted shortcomings in other departments, which he urged to conduct a detailed study to identify the reasons for underperformance and implement corrective measures.
The meeting was based on a survey conducted across ten key issues. Naidu stressed the need to enhance service delivery, improve quality, and eliminate corruption. He warned that even one per cent corruption in welfare schemes would not be tolerated.
As per the survey findings, 90.2 per cent of beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with pension distribution on the first of every month, while 87.48 per cent were content with the behaviour of distributors. However, 15.6 per cent reported corruption in some areas.
Regarding Anna Canteens, 91 per cent were happy with food quality, 82 per cent appreciated cleanliness, and 84 per cent were satisfied with timely service. Similarly, 89.92 per cent of farmers expressed satisfaction with the grain procurement system, though 30 per cent faced issues with gunny bag supply.
The Chief Minister directed officials to increase public satisfaction in sand and fertiliser supply. While 78 per cent of people were satisfied with sand distribution, Naidu insisted on achieving 100 per cent satisfaction by improving the free sand supply system.
