The Eluru district police have arrested four notorious interstate burglars and recovered gold jewellery and silver ornaments worth Rs 72.94 lakh.
Superintendent of Police KP Shiva Kishore informed the media on Thursday that the four burglars had gained notoriety for committing burglaries. On the intervening night of January 11-12, 2025, the four-member gang burgled Lokeswari Jewellery, located in the main bazaar, by making a hole at the back of the shop. They stole gold jewellery and silver ornaments.
The SP formed special teams led by CI G Satyanarayana, CCS CI Rajasekhar, and MV Subhash. The police team apprehended the four burglars when they were moving suspiciously near a layout on Chodimella Road on Thursday. During interrogation, they confessed to the burglary at Lokeswari Jewellery.
The police seized gold jewellery and silver ornaments worth Rs 72.94 lakh, along with a motorcycle and tools used to commit the crime. The SP identified the arrested burglars as Kulip Singh, Manoj Kumar, Mahender Singh, and Rajesh Kusuvah. All four are residents of Uttar Pradesh and have been involved in multiple offences, including burglaries and thefts across various states. Mahender Singh alone was involved in 11 offences at different locations.
Cases Cr.No.06/2025, U/S 331 (4) 305 (a) BNS were registered against them. They were produced before the court today, which remanded them to judicial custody. SP KP Shiva Kishore appreciated the police team for successfully apprehending the interstate burglars.
