Telangana government will provide water for every acre of farmland and work for every hand in the State, promised Minister for Agriculture S Niranjan Reddy on Thursday.
Speaking at a function, shortly after inaugurating the Eedula Nandimalla Guda lift irrigation project, the Minister reiterated that the State government aims to provide water to every acre and make the farmer a king. The project was built at a cost of Rs 92 lakh with the funds provided under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme. It would irrigate 300 acres. The government has been endeavouring to ensure 100 per cent irrigation. It would help the all-round development of the State, he said.
A record ground production worth Rs 1.20 crore was achieved in one season. The farmers were meted out injustice in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. Now, the farmers expressed their satisfaction over the government’s support to them in alleviating their sufferings.
With the water for irrigation being made available in the district, the area under various crops, including vegetables and groundnut, increased, he said.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao started Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to create awareness among farmers across the country. The BRS is committed to the welfare of farmers.
