Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday emphasised the importance of cohesive and collective brainstorming among government departments to empower the common man. Addressing a meeting of Ministers and Secretaries at the State Secretariat, he stressed that effective coordination, integration, and execution are the government’s responsibility.
Terming the meeting a brainstorming session, he said it was organised to gain clarity on the government’s direction and priorities. Highlighting the state’s challenges, he alleged that nearly 90 Centrally Sponsored Schemes had become non-functional due to mismanagement and fund diversions by the previous YSRCP government. The current administration, he said, is focusing on the optimal implementation of central schemes and ensuring that competent individuals are placed in key positions.
Naidu reiterated the long-term vision of Swarna Andhra 2047, aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, which aims for a sustained growth rate of 15 per cent. He underscored the need to strengthen family welfare services, ensure proper street lighting, roads, drainage, garbage collection, and promote a circular economy model to build a healthier and wealthier society. He also stressed that accelerating revenue growth, streamlining bureaucratic processes, and fostering a culture of innovation are crucial for the state’s progress.
The Chief Minister directed officials to leverage the first-mover advantage to secure central funds under newly announced Union Budget schemes. Calling upon officials to rededicate themselves to building a prosperous Andhra Pradesh, he outlined the goal of transforming the state into a $2.4 trillion GSDP economy. He also pointed out that Andhra Pradesh has a GSDP shortfall of Rs 87,000 crore compared to Telangana and emphasised the need to enhance purchasing power to drive economic growth.
Naidu instructed officials to expedite file clearances in the e-office system and stressed the importance of efficiency in government operations. He called upon departmental heads to identify bottlenecks in file processing and resolve delays promptly. He made it clear that non-financial files should never be left pending, while budget-related matters should be swiftly reviewed for financial approvals.
To track economic progress, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a Vision Monitoring Unit at the state level, with districts preparing constituency-level plans. He directed district administrations to identify key projects contributing to GSDP growth, which will be tracked through a dedicated portal. He also stated that department-wise GSDP mapping will be conducted, setting a target of 15.76 per cent overall growth.
Naidu instructed officials to ensure quality service delivery through technological touchpoints and QR codes to assess public satisfaction with key programmes such as pension distribution, Anna Canteens, paddy procurement, temple services, and government hospital services. He further directed officials to extend all government services through the recently launched WhatsApp governance platform, Mana Mitra, enabling citizens to access official documents through the messaging app.
