Govt misusing police for political vendetta: YSRCP Legal Cell

YSRCP Legal Cell State President Manohar Reddy has strongly condemned the alleged misuse of the police force for political vendetta. He asserted that the arrest of Vallabaneni Vamsi had exposed a malicious conspiracy, with the police being used as a tool for political revenge.
Referring to Vamsi’s case, he pointed out that the FIR copy was provided to his family only after his arrest and court appearance. This, he claimed, was a deliberate attempt to keep Vamsi in custody without immediate legal recourse.
Manohar Reddy alleged that TDP leaders were influencing the police, dictating arrests, investigations, imposition of sections, and even the selection of witnesses. He warned that if constitutional principles, as enshrined in the ‘Red Book’, were not upheld, public outrage would be inevitable.
He also highlighted the recent High Court remarks over the handling of CCTV footage, where the authorities claimed it was damaged by monkeys.
The court, however, did not accept this explanation and expressed serious displeasure. Despite judicial reprimands, he said, the police had not changed their approach. He further stated that filing false cases would ultimately backfire on the police. Reminding them that power is never permanent in anyone’s hands, he urged them to act lawfully.
