Rajiv Gandhi was not a Hindu as his father Feroz Jehangir Gandhi was a Parsi, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar said.
Sanjay was addressing the closing ceremony of the ‘Swadeshi Mela’ organised by the Swadeshi Jagarana Manch at the Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar on Sunday as the chief guest.
Sanjay said that Feroz’s ancestors were of Muslim descent and Rajiv Gandhi’s wife Sonia is an Italian Catholic Christian. “How can Rahul Gandhi be a Hindu then,” he asked.
Sanjay said that if 42 per cent reservations are given to BCs 10 per cent of that will go to Muslims. This shows that BCs have been dealt a serious injustice. He said the Congress is conspiring to reduce the quota for BCs and cheat them in the name of the caste census.
“I heard the words spoken by Congress leaders on TV. It is ironic that Congress leaders said that the father’s caste applies to the son and that since Rajiv Gandhi was a Hindu his son Rahul Gandhi is also a Hindu. How did Rajiv Gandhi become a Hindu? Rajiv Gandhi’s father Feroz Jehangir Gandhi was a Parsi. Their ancestors came to India from Persia and became Parsis. Feroz Jehangir Gandhi’s religion applies to Rajiv Gandhi. So Rajiv Gandhi is not a Hindu. Rajiv is a Parsi with Muslim roots. Rahul Gandhi’s family in #10, Jan Path has no caste, religion, race, or country. But Modi is a pure Indian. Foreigners today bow down to Modi. Nowadays, every Indian abroad is proudly calling himself an Indian,” he said.
Sanjay said that Hindus are being severely wronged in the name of the BC caste census. “Congress leaders are conspiring to reduce the population percentage of BCs. They have included 10 per cent quota for Muslims in BCs. The Congress government said that they would give 42 per cent reservation to BCs. Out of this 10 per cent goes to Muslims. So BCs get only 32 per cent reservations. And how will reservations be given to 42 per cent BCs? The Congress government is doing more injustice than justice to BCs,” he said.
Sanjay said the government has decided to bring a law against religious conversions and love jihad like in Maharashtra. A similar law should be passed in Telangana too.
“If Muslims are included in the BCs list and if the Bill is sent to the Centre there is no question of the Centre approving that. There is no pretence in this. We will work for Hindu Dharma. If Muslims are removed from the BCs list and sent to the Centre we will definitely ensure that the list is approved,” he said.
