District Collector Ila Tripathi has stressed the need to take measures to ensure that there is no shortage of drinking water during the upcoming summer. She conducted a review meeting on Tuesday at the Nalgonda Municipal office.
She instructed ward officers to take proactive steps to prevent any inconvenience to the public regarding drinking water. She also suggested providing drinking water through water tankers if necessary, based on last year’s demand for water. Additionally, she emphasised the importance of cleaning overhead tanks and water tanks regularly to avoid contamination, recommending the use of bleaching powder.
She said that measures should be in place to ensure that there is no disruption in water supply, especially in the suburbs of Nalgonda Municipality. During the meeting, the Collector focused on the importance of maintaining sanitation, waste collection and ensuring a proper water and electricity supply. She also reviewed the progress of drinking water tank construction in the area.
The meeting was attended by Additional Collector J. Srinivas, Municipal Commissioner Syed Musab Ahmed, officials from RWSS, Mission Bhagiratha, Electricity, and Municipal ward officers.
