Playing a dual role—one as a model named Sonu and the other as a female character, Laila—the film was filled with double-meaning dialogues and vulgarity, drawing severe backlash.
Following the film’s failure, Vishwak Sen issued a public apology, acknowledging the criticism. He also expressed regret for certain scenes in the movie, which led to financial losses for the producer. Laila was a passion project for him, but it backfired.
