Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply Minister Seetakka conducted a review meeting at the Secretariat on the status of drinking water supply under Mission Bhagiratha. The meeting was attended by Mission Bhagiratha Engineering in Chief Krupakar Reddy and other senior officials, who provided a detailed update on the ongoing supply situation across the state.
Officials informed the Minister that there were no major drinking water issues reported so far, and any minor problems arising in villages were being resolved immediately. They promised that daily reviews with district officials at 8 am were being conducted to ensure smooth water supply.
Minister Seetakka instructed officials to take proactive measures to prevent any drinking water shortages during the summer months. She directed that reservoir water levels be monitored regularly and that coordination with the electricity department be strengthened to avoid power supply disruptions affecting water pumping stations. She emphasized that preventive maintenance of pump house motors should be prioritized to avoid unexpected breakdowns. She also ordered Mission Bhagiratha staff, from the ENC level down to the village level, to remain vigilant and ensure continuous monitoring of water supply systems. District officials were instructed to submit daily reports on drinking water supply status and to resolve any technical issues immediately. In case of any disruptions, alternative arrangements should be made without delay.
The Minister assured that Sufficient Water Reserves were available in reservoirs to meet demand during the summer. She added that the government was considering allocating a to district collectors to address any emergency drinking water needs if required.
