For cricket enthusiasts, an India-Pakistan match is more than just a game—it’s an emotion. The high-voltage encounter at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday was no exception, drawing passionate supporters from across the globe. Among them was Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Human Resources and IT and the National General Secretary of the TDP, who was seen soaking in the electrifying atmosphere alongside his young son, Nara Devansh.
Sporting Team India jerseys and waving the tricolour, Lokesh and Devansh stood out among the sea of supporters, cheering every boundary and wicket with infectious enthusiasm. Their presence at the stadium highlighted the deep connection between cricket and politics in India, where leaders often share the fervour of the sport with the masses.
Accompanying them were notable figures from Andhra Pradesh’s cricketing and political circles. Vijayawada MP and Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) and ACA Secretary Sana Satish, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, were present, reflecting ACA’s engagement with international cricket events. Renowned filmmaker Sukumar also joined the delegation, adding a cinematic touch to the cricketing spectacle. Beyond the thrill of the match, Lokesh found an opportunity to engage in a meaningful discussion with Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and a key figure in the Indian cricket administration. Their conversation revolved around enhancing cricket infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh, a topic of growing importance as the state aims to bolster its sporting facilities. Lokesh later took to social media, expressing satisfaction over Jay Shah’s keen interest in supporting cricket development in the region.
Adding a star-studded presence to the evening, megastar Chiranjeevi was also spotted at the stadium, exuding charm in formal attire. As fans revelled in the game, the presence of these eminent personalities underscored how cricket continues to unite people across different spheres, transcending the boundaries of profession and politics.
