He was speaking while inaugurating the 22nd edition of BioAsia 2025, Asia’s largest life sciences and healthcare conference, themed ‘Catalysts of Change – Expanding Global Healthcare Frontiers, Transforming Healthcare with Innovation, Collaboration and Progress.’
Dr Jeannette Young, the Governor of Queensland and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu along with other dignitaries attended the inauguration function.
Addressing the conference, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that BioAsia has helped position Hyderabad as a global life sciences hub.
“This event is crucial in strengthening India’s role in the healthcare sector. Hyderabad has a strong presence in healthcare, biosciences, pharma, biotech and bulk drug manufacturing. The government aims to make Hyderabad and Telangana a top destination for biotech innovation, R&D, skill development and investment,” the CM said.
“Telangana leads in attracting domestic and foreign investment. It has the lowest inflation rate and is creating jobs. The state has a 160 km Outer Ring Road (ORR) and is building a 360 km Regional Ring Road (RRR) with radial roads, connecting new manufacturing hubs for pharma, EVs, green energy and agri-processing. Green Pharma City, part of the Future City Project, is progressing well. The state has signed six MoUs and will sign 11 more, creating more jobs,” he said.

“The government is launching a new Life Sciences Policy to expand into cell and gene therapy, genomics, precision medicine, and digital innovation. Telangana recently secured investments worth Rs 1.80 lakh crore at the World Economic Forum in Davos creating 50,000 jobs. Last year, Rs 40,000 crore was invested in the life sciences sector in 150 projects. The state is also developing Pharma Villages between ORR and RRR and that will create around five lakh jobs,” the CM said.

Welcoming top global companies, the CM assured government support through a simplified industrial policy. He also congratulated Prof. Patrick Tan, the winner of the Genome Valley Excellence Award.
