Karthi injured on Sardar 2 set, film’s release likely to be delayed

Tamil star Karthi, who has a strong fan base in both Tamil and Telugu cinema, has suffered an injury while shooting for Sardar 2, the sequel to his 2022 hit Sardar. The action-packed film, directed by PS Mithran, has been filming in Mysore for the past few days.
During an intense sequence, Karthi sustained a leg injury, leading the crew to rush him to a nearby hospital. According to reports, doctors have advised him to rest for at least two weeks.
The film features Malavika Mohanan as the female lead, with SJ Suryah, Ashika Ranganath and Rajisha Vijayan in pivotal roles. Music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and the film is produced by S. Lakshman Kumar and Siddharth Srinivas.
Initially slated for a May 31 release, Sardar 2 might face a delay depending on Karthi’s recovery. A source close to the production stated, “It all depends on how soon Karthi heals and can resume shooting.” In the film, Karthi reprises his dual roles as a police inspector and a RAW agent. Fans are eagerly awaiting an official update on whether the injury will impact the film’s release schedule.
