YSRCP general secretary and Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has accused TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu of orchestrating a preplanned attack on the police in Punganur. The incident occurred on Friday when TDP activists were found carrying stones and arms (guns) in their vehicles. Addressing the media at Vijayawada Airport, Sajjala stated that the attack on the police was a clear example of Chandrababu’s desperation to regain power.
He condemned Chandrababu for disregarding his responsibility to maintain law and order and alleged that the incident showcased Chandrababu’s provocative behavior towards the police.
“Chandrababu’s inflammatory speeches and disrespectful attitude towards the police reveal his true intentions,” Sajjala said, adding that such individuals have no place in politics.
The YSRCP general secretary urged intellectuals to discuss whether a political party and its leader should engage in such conspiracies and violence. He called on the people to reject the Telugu Desam Party and those who promote violence in politics.
Highlighting Chandrababu’s abusive language against the police during his 14-year tenure as Chief Minister, Sajjala said that the Punganur incident was another display of Chandrababu’s propensity to incite violence.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy announced that the matter would be brought to the attention of the Election Commission, with all the necessary evidence, and legal action would be pursued. He asserted that political parties promoting violence are detrimental to a democratic society and expressed confidence that the people would deliver a strong message to Chandrababu and the TDP in the upcoming days.
While condemning the attack on the police, Sajjala commended the activists of the ruling YSRCP for their restrained response and called on all citizens to unite against such violent actions and attitudes.
