Actress Rathika Rose, who became extremely popular after her stint in Bigg Boss, is soon making her film debut as a lead heroine, and that too in a movie whose prequels were big hits in both Tamil and Telugu.
The actress has come on board Pizza 4, the very popular Pizza franchise, with actor Abi Hassan, the son of popular actor Nazzar. Produced by CV Kumar, SJ Arjun is the director of Pizza 4: Home Alone.
Upon reaching out to know more about her movie, Rathika shared with us, “Pizza 4 is releasing in both Tamil and Telugu languages. I already did a film in Tamil during COVID. It’s 90 percent complete, and during that film, I got a chance to learn Tamil, which helped me bag this project. I travelled for almost one and a half years in Chennai for that film, so I learned the language.”
She further shared, “Pizza 4 promises to be a thriller, and there is a direct link to Pizza 1. This is a horror and comedy-genre film. It has many fun and love elements. I will be seen in a traditional get-up itself.”
The shooting is said to finish on a single schedule within 30 days. The entire shooting, according to Rathika, will take place in Chennai itself.
Apart from this, the actress has two projects in the pipeline in Tamil and one in Telugu; however, they are not yet on paper, hence she couldn’t reveal many details.
Her rise to fame among every Telugu household was Bigg Boss. However, it didn’t happen as planned for her, as she came out with both positivity and negativity among the audience. The reason she explained was: “I didn’t go inside the house to win the show. When I entered the house, I realised that I had the least fame among the others, as I was comparatively new. When I got eliminated, along with negativity, there was also positivity, where people praised me for taking a stand for myself, taking decisions for myself, and always sticking to my ground. The audience began to judge me based on what was telecast by the show makers! Hence, I didn’t really bother about it. When I made my re-entry as a wild card contestant, I became very conscious of what to say and what not to say because I didn’t want my family to be affected by it. I feel this over-consciousness made me miss my game. However, this Bigg Boss game helped me a lot in my career. The show helped me bag my movie as well, so I am very thankful to the show.”
As she is just getting started in the industry, the actress, a native Telugu girl, wants to play realistic roles in her upcoming films. “For me, my roles need to be realistic. I was an audience once, and when people are watching me as an audience, I want to keep myself very realistic. For me, my get-up and my look matter because I feel our characterisation will be seen in the first impression itself. I am okay with glamour roles too, but I don’t like unnecessary exposure. Moreover, I like characters where I can play a tribal girl, a princess or a queen, a soldier, a cleopatra, or a warrior. To be more clear, getups are more important for me to choose roles.”
She also revealed the reason for having ‘Rose’ in her name. It was because she immensely loves the character Rose from the Titanic movie, which is her all-time favourite. “My wish is to get a role resembling her in the future. That’s the reason my last name is Rose. But on screen, I prefer Rathika only,” said the Telugu beauty.
Furthermore, these days, a video of hers is also going viral, where she was seen singing the Kurchi Madthapetti song from Guntur Kaaram. Many were curious if she was recreating that song, and she clarified, “I was actually practicing that song for BB Utsavam, and I casually uploaded the video during rehearsals, and it reached the audience very well, which was unexpected for me. However, I do have thoughts of doing cover songs. Since I am interested in singing, I plan to make cover songs after some practice.”
