Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, stated that “India is a land of tremendous beauty” while addressing the 93rd birth anniversary celebration of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at the Andhra Medtech Zone (AMTZ) on Tuesday.
Chaudhary highlighted the unique blend of tradition and innovation that characterizes India. “We have old economy industries right next to us, with chimneys spewing smoke, but we also have here a hub of the best ideas and innovation that could be possible in one place. India tends to do things well.” His words resonated throughout the event, which honoured the enduring legacy of Dr. Kalam, a visionary leader whose influence continues to inspire generations.
During his speech, Chaudhary praised AMTZ as a platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration, where diverse enterprises flourish. He acknowledged the organization’s contributions to medical technology and lauded the multi-ministerial cooperation that has driven its success. Reflecting on the foresight of Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister, who conceptualized the AMTZ project in 2018, Chaudhary remarked, “As an institution, AMTZ is still in its infancy, with immense potential for learning and growth.” He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting education and skill development within the healthcare sector.
The event featured the inauguration of several vital initiatives, including the Instalimb facility, National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), IITPL Cath Lab production facility, 3I Medtech, CII-Institute of Quality, Smile Zone (Delta Care Center), Atlas Concilio, and the Indian Institute of Radiological Technology (IIRT). These new additions align with AMTZ’s mission of transforming healthcare through innovation and collaboration.
Dr Jitendra Sharma, MD & Founder CEO of AMTZ, emphasized the importance of teamwork in fulfilling Dr Kalam’s vision. “The advancements in prosthetic limbs, cutting-edge CT scanners, and India’s first cath lab manufacturing facility are true testaments to our commitment to science and healthcare,” Dr Sharma said. He highlighted the collective efforts of manufacturers, innovators, scientists, doctors, and engineers in advancing India’s healthcare sector.
