Retired DGP A.B. Venkateswara Rao has demanded the immediate closure of the case involving an alleged attack on YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, terming it politically motivated and a misuse of state machinery.

Addressing the media, Rao accused Jagan of exploiting public incidents for political mileage, alleging that a minor injury caused by a garland during a public event was exaggerated and misrepresented as a stone attack for electoral advantage.

He condemned the wrongful arrest of a man named Satish, who was jailed for 45 days despite the absence of credible evidence. “Satish, from the Vaddera community, and his family have suffered immensely due to this fabricated case,” Rao said, after meeting the victim and his family.

He also alleged custodial torture, stating, “Satish was subjected to third-degree methods and now struggles even to eat with his own hands.”
