Every year, we see parents scramble to seek admission for their kids in good private schools. In Andhra Pradesh, the scenario is different. Thanks to the YS Jagan government which has made significant improvements to the education system in government schools, the anxious parents are searching for nearest government schools to get their wards admitted in the primary schools.

After the summer vacation, the schools were reopened on June 12 in the Telugu State. In the last 10 days, most of the government primary schools have reached the admission strength and the parents of wards are being turned away by these schools.

Many parents who cannot afford the school fees of private schools are desperate to get their children admitted to government schools. However, many are disappointed as the admission process has been closed in these schools.

Dharma Eenam Trust Municipal School in Auto Nagar of Vijayawada East has filled all the seats in the primary section and they are forced to turn away the parents who are seeking an admission for their children in the school. The school has both primary and secondary sections. The school authorities said the students from Class V are admitted to Class VI and therefore they cannot afford to admit more students coming from different schools.

In Nellore, KNR Municipal Upper Primary School too is facing an influx of admission seekers. The school management said they cannot give admission to more students due to the limited seats in the classes. As the anxious parents kept coming to the school, the authorities have put up a ‘No Vacancy’ board outside the school suggesting they are not taking further admissions.
