All India Congress Committee (AICC) member Kolanukonda Shivaji vehemently objected to former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s proposed dharna in New Delhi.
Talking to the media here on Saturday, Kolanukonda Shivaji objected to Jagan Mohan Reddy politicizing the murder of Sk. Rasheed which took place in Vinukonda in Palnadu district.
Though the police clarified that it was not a politically related murder, Jagan Mohan Reddy went to Vinukonda and consoled the bereaved family. Jagan Mohn Reddy had never consoled the bereaved families when he was the Chief Minister, he pointed out.
Later the former Chief Minister came down heavily on the 45-days-old Chandrababu Naidu-headed government and announced the staging of a dharna in Delhi in protest against the violence in AP. Moreover, Jagan Mohan Reddy demanded President Rule to be imposed in AP.
Congress party senior leader Shivaji questioned Jagan Mohan Reddy whether he ever staged a dharna in Delhi demanding the granting of Special Category Status (SCS) to AP and fulfilling the AP Reorganization Act provisions during his five-year tenure.
“The Jagan Mohan Reddy-headed YSRCP had over 30 MPs previously.
But he never exerted pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for SCS. The YSRCP one-sidedly supported all the bills in the Parliament. The people, who disenchanted with the YSRCP regime, taught a lesson,” Kolanukonda Shivaji slammed.
Since the BJP has no adequate strength in the Rajya Sabha now, Jagan Mohan Reddy, with his 9 Rajya Sabha members, is trying to draw the attention of the BJP, he flayed. The scams, which took place during the five years of the YSRCP regime, are seeing light now, he said, adding that some mischievous acts of YSRCP leaders are also being exposed now.
