Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to immediately release Rs 11,713.49 crore for restoring and repairing infrastructure damaged by heavy rains.
During their meeting in New Delhi on Monday, Revanth highlighted the impact of the rains from August 31 to September 8, which claimed 37 lives and damaged crops, roads, culverts, tanks and canals in around 4.15 lakh acres.
He reminded the Union Minister of his earlier request for Rs 5,438 crore and stressed that the amount allocated so far is insufficient to meet the state’s needs. The Chief Minister also pointed out that despite a Central team visiting Telangana and estimating damages, funds have not been released. The CM said that the districts of Adilabad, Mancherial and Komaram Bheem Asifabad which were removed from the Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) affected category should be reinstated. He emphasised the need for additional CRPF Joint Task Force (JTF) camps in some areas along the Telangana–Maharashtra and Telangana– Chhattisgarh borders citing security concerns.
The Chief Minister also requested Rs 18.31 crore to pay the pending salaries of Special Police Officers (SPOs) and sought relaxation of recruitment norms for 1,065 new SPOs. He also asked for the strengthening of police stations in border districts and an additional Rs 25.59 crore for anti-extremist training.

The Chief Minister requested Amit Shah to resolve the long-standing bifurcation issues, including the distribution of government buildings, corporations and institutions listed under Schedules 9 and 10 of the Reorganization Act.
He asked for fair treatment in settling claims being made by Andhra Pradesh on assets not mentioned in the Act but being contested by both states.
Revanth also requested 29 additional IPS officers for Telangana, pointing out that the state was allocated only 76 IPS officers during bifurcation and called for an immediate review of IPS allocation.
