AIG Hospitals has unveiled its NeuroCath Lab, featuring the advanced Philips Azurion 2.2 Biplane system, a dedicated Neuro ICU, and 24/7 availability of stroke specialists.
This ground-breaking facility is designed to revolutionize the treatment of neurovascular emergencies, particularly strokes, which remain a leading cause of death and disability in India, with an estimated 1.8 million cases annually.
The facility was inaugurated by Dr G Chandrashekar Reddy, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Telangana. Equipped with cutting-edge 2D and 3D imaging technology, flexible X-ray detector positioning and features like automatic beam rotation, the NeuroCath Lab enables minimally invasive neuro interventions.
These advancements aim to enhance the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of treatments for conditions such as ischemic stroke, brain aneurysms and congenital vascular abnormalities, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing costs.
Dr D Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman of AIG Hospitals, emphasised the importance of timely care during strokes. “Every minute counts in a stroke emergency.
Our NeuroCath Lab allows us to provide world-class, timely interventions to save lives and preserve quality of life.
This is part of our ongoing commitment to bringing advanced healthcare technologies and expertise to our patients,” he said.
