The Prohibition and Excise Joint Action Committee members have met the Minister for BC Welfare, EWS, Handloom and Textile, S Savithan to extend thanks for restoring the Prohibition and Excise Department in place of the Special Enforcement Bureau, at her chamber on the premises of the Secretariat at Velagapudi on Thursday.
They expressed happiness over the decision and extended thanks to Chief Minister N chandrababu Also, they told the Minister that they will strive to prevent ganja and drug menace.
In this connection, Minister Savitha said that the Prohibition and Excise Department should put an iron foot on the cultivation of ganja and its illegal transportation in the State. She said that her government is people-centric and the government has decided to transform the State into a drugs and ganja-free one.
Besides, she was unhappy that the youths are being led astray by the illegal sale of ganja and drugs. So, she appealed to the JAC leaders to take appropriate steps to prevent illegal cultivation, transportation and sale of ganja.
Prohibition and Excise Joint Action Committee chairman Babji Rao, secretary Narasimhulu, co-chairman M Kotaiah, Superintendent Lavanya, Assistant Commissioner Swathi, Inspectors Varma, Kameswara Rao and others were present.
