Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the Alai-Balai programme inspired the formation of the political JAC when the creation of Telangana state was delayed. Alai Balai played a vital role in activating all sections of society during the Telangana Movement, the CM said.
Participating in the Alai-Balai programme held at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds on Sunday, the CM said that Bandaru Dattatreya has been organising the Alai Balai programme for the last 19 years during Dussehra regardless of politics. Dattatreya is trying his best to revive Telangana culture through Alai Balai, he added.
The Alai Balai programme also propagated the importance of the preservation of Telangana culture, the CM said.
The CM said that Dussehra is the biggest festival in Telangana. Bandaru Dattatreya is synonymous with Alai Balai. Thanking Bandaru Vijayalakshmi for continuing Dattatreya’s legacy, the CM said, “I Am confident that Bandaru Vijayalakshmi will continue the tradition of conducting Alai Balai. I have already told the government and the Congress leadership to participate in Alai Balai and preserve Telangana’s culture. Leaders gave a message that ‘we are all one’ by attending Alai Balai.
Governors from five states, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar were among those who attended ‘Alai Balai,’ an annual cultural event, organised here on Sunday on the occasion of Dussehra.
