Noted Telugu film actor Ali has announced that he is quitting politics. In a video message, he declared that he would no longer be associated with any political party.
Ali had been a member of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and was appointed as an advisor within the party. Reportedly, Ali had expected to be given an MLA or Rajya Sabha MP seat but was not awarded either position. In his video statement, Ali emphasised that he is now just a common man who will vote once every five years and will no longer engage in political activities. He expressed his intention to focus on his film career and stay busy with his shooting schedules, effectively saying goodbye to politics for good. Before joining YSRCP, Ali was affiliated with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
The actor expressed his gratitude towards the film industry, acknowledging it as the source of his livelihood. He also highlighted his ongoing charity work through his trust, which has been active for the past 16 years. “I have been running this trust and continued to serve even
during the Covid-19 pandemic. I donate 20 per cent of my income to the trust. I have never spoken ill of any person or political leader,” Ali stated in his video message.
