Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt recently spoke about sharing screen time with Vedang Raina, her co-star in Jigra. She described him as “sublime.” Additionally, Alia talked about her experience working with filmmaker Vasan Bala.
“Vedang is just sublime,” Alia shared in an interview. “He appears in the movie as my brother. We had a pretty smooth, laid-back working relationship, although I won’t go into too much detail about it.”
“I had a wonderful time working with Vasan Bala,” Alia said, referring to director Vasan Bala as cool. She further added, “You’ll see so many Easter eggs in his films and in ‘Jigra’ as well. In fact, it used to be like a discovery for me every time I walked onto the set. He has this grounding, old-soul sort of quality, yet he is also so edgy and cool. As a filmmaker, the way he writes and thinks is amazing. I had a blast working with him.”
In addition to Jigra, Alia is working on an unnamed film with Yash Raj Films and Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Talking of Love and War, Alia has been pretty excited for the film, as she shares, “There are so many layers to look forward to that I don’t know which one to pick. First and foremost, the pleasure and honour of working with Sanjay sir once again, under his guidance and gaze, is step number one. You can go anywhere with it because of his attention to detail and his attention to you.”
Alia added that she is looking forward to Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali coming together once again. “I, as an audience, am more excited to see him [Bhansali] and Ranbir collaborate again after so many years. I am like, ‘Wow, what’s that going to be like?” she said.
