Final preparations are in place for the relaunch of Amaravati’s capital development works, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to inaugurate the project on May 2. The grand event will take place at the grounds behind the Secretariat in Velagapudi and is seen as a major milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s growth trajectory.
Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar, and Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra reviewed the arrangements on Thursday. They confirmed that all aspects—including security, traffic control, and seating—have been finalised to ensure a smooth event.
Minister Narayana lauded the farmers who gave their lands for the capital, calling their contributions “unforgettable sacrifices.” He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had personally invited them to witness this symbolic relaunch.
Minister Keshav noted that infrastructure around the Assembly is ready and that access and parking have been well planned. Minister Manohar described the occasion as a collective celebration, aimed at ensuring public participation and convenience. Kollu Ravindra highlighted the seamless coordination between departments and officials in getting the venue ready.
The event is expected to draw significant attention as Amaravati’s development regains momentum.
