The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has made elaborate arrangements for its much-anticipated annual conclave, Mahanadu, which is scheduled to take place in Kadapa from May 27 to 29. The prestigious three-day event will serve as a crucial platform for the party to chart its future course under the leadership of TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu, focusing on organisational reforms, strategic planning, and ideological direction.
The inaugural day will begin at 8:30 am with the registration of delegates. This will be followed by the inauguration of a photo-exhibition showcasing the party’s history and achievements, as well as blood donation camps. At 10:30 am, the party’s national president, politburo members, and senior leaders will be formally welcomed onto the dais.
The TDP flag will be hoisted, and floral tributes will be paid to party founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) by garlanding his statue. The opening ceremony will include the rendition of the Telugu anthem ‘Maa Telugu Talliki’ and condolence messages in memory of party leaders and activists who have passed away.
The day’s proceedings will continue with the presentation of the General Secretary’s Report and a welcome address by the TDP State Unit President.
The Treasurer’s Report on party finances will also be tabled, setting the stage for the inaugural address by Chandrababu Naidu at 11:50 a.m.
A key highlight of this year’s Mahanadu will be the release of the “Six-Formula Resolution”, which outlines the party’s governance strategy and long-term vision. This resolution reflects the TDP’s commitment to achieving its Swarnandhra Vision 2047, a roadmap for inclusive and progressive development of Andhra Pradesh.
The resolution underlines the belief that the party activist is the leader, with emphasis on strengthening the organisational structure through digital platforms such as Karyakartha Sadhikara Samakhya (KSS), Qubes, and the My TDP App. It also lays stress on the welfare and empowerment of youth under the banner of ‘Yuva Galam’, promising investment, employment generation, decentralised development, and the use of technology in public administration, including WhatsApp-based governance.
The resolution seeks to position the Telugu community as globally renowned, reflecting on the reformist legacy of NTR and the developmental strides made under Naidu’s leadership. It highlights the party’s contributions over its 40-year journey, including efforts to secure reservations in local bodies.
The empowerment and safety of women is another cornerstone of the resolution, which reiterates the party’s focus on welfare measures and strong law and order. Social justice and poverty eradication also form part of the party’s renewed agenda, aiming to create a poverty-free society by ensuring access to housing, healthcare, and education for all sections, especially the poor.
The party is also expected to reaffirm its commitment to farmers by promoting technology-driven agriculture, expediting the construction of irrigation projects, and initiating reforms in the power sector to support rural livelihoods.
Throughout the conclave, the party will re-examine its foundational principles and deliberate on amendments to its rules and regulations. These changes, spearheaded by TDP national general secretary and Minister Nara Lokesh, aim to reflect the evolving political environment and ensure the party remains responsive and adaptive.
At 1:00 pm on the first day, the notification for the election of the TDP national president will be officially issued.
Post-lunch sessions on Day One will include a detailed discussion on the theme “Activist is the Leader”, focusing on grassroots mobilisation, digital engagement, and family participation in party building. Later in the afternoon, the session will shift to “Yuva Galam”, covering youth development, regional equity, and technological governance.
On May 28, the second day of Mahanadu will see continued discussions with party representatives. Draft resolutions on developmental and welfare programmes being implemented by the TDP-led NDA government will be debated. Further homage will be paid to the late NTR, keeping his legacy central to the proceedings.
As the TDP prepares to assert its political vision ahead of future challenges, Mahanadu 2025 is poised to be a landmark event, reaffirming the party’s ideological foundations and developmental aspirations under the banner of Swarnandhra 2047.
