All videos should be made public, demands YSRCP

Must read

YSRCP MLA from Gurazala and MLA candidate Kasu Mahesh Reddy has urged the Election Commission to release all videos of EVM damaging incidents, and demanded stern action against the violators. He said that a fresh petition has been lodged with the Commission to release the video clips of all EVM damaging incidents. He added that they will move the court, if the EC fails to release the videos and take action against TDP culprits.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, MLA Mahesh Reddy said that only the video clip of Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy was released though seven to eight similar incidents took place in Palnadu region. In the Palavai Gate booth incident, the TDP leaders beat up and pulled out YSRCP agents from the polling booth before rigging votes. He explained that Ramakrishna Reddy came to the booth when he came to know about the rigging and the manhandling incident.
MLA Mahesh Reddy said that Ramakrishna Reddy won as MLA from Macherla four times. “He does not need to practise illegalities. Rigging was registered in Veldurthi, Chintapalli, Vepakampalli, Rompicherla and other places where TD leaders attacked YSRC agents and forcibly sent them out from polling booths,” he said.
He further alleged that YSRCP lodged complaints with the EC, but in vain as there was no action. CCTV and web cameras were installed in all polling booths, but only one video clip was released. The MLA demanded that the EC release all video clips regarding the incidents of EVM damage in seven polling booths.
Kasu Mahesh Reddy said that EC suspended and transferred several police officials appointed by itself which shows the failure of EC to conduct fair and free polls. He claimed that TD was involved in the majority of EVM damage incidents, so the EC should release those videos. He added that Ramakrishna went to the High Court seeking police protection in sensitive polling booths and the HC ordered the same. But the police did not provide protection giving chance to TD goons for rigging.
MLA Mahesh Reddy said that they will not leave the matter and will conduct a thorough probe after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy retains power.
