Alliance govt will speed up Veligonda Project: PK

Must read

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has expressed concern over the alleged neglect of the Veligonda project under the leadership of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking at a significant election rally in Giddalur, he vowed to prioritise the completion of the project swiftly if his alliance secures power.
During his address, Kalyan highlighted the potential benefits of the Veligonda project, emphasising its capacity to provide irrigation water to 3.36 lakh acres in 23 mandals of the Prakasam district and an additional one lakh acres in the Nellore and Kadapa districts. He reminded the audience of Reddy’s unfulfilled promise to hold elections only after the project’s completion.
Kalyan accused Reddy of exploiting the incomplete Veligonda project for electoral gains, asserting that the project’s tunnels were inaugurated without water before the elections to sway votes. He stressed the urgent need to address the issue of fluorosis affecting residents in Ongole and Kanigiri, underscoring the importance of completing the Veligonda project and ensuring water distribution to mitigate this problem.
Criticising the YSRCP government’s allocation of substantial funds for electioneering instead of prioritising the completion of vital irrigation projects, Pawan Kalyan assured voters of his party’s commitment to addressing key issues such as irrigation, drinking water, education, healthcare, and employment generation if they are entrusted with power.
Encouraging voters to support the alliance candidates, Pawan Kalyan expressed dismay over the alleged harassment of Jana Sena activists by YSRCP leaders and vowed to contest against the YSRCP MLA candidate in Giddalur.
In a separate gathering in Kaikalur, Kalyan condemned Chief Minister Reddy’s purported intimidation tactics toward voters, urging them to reject such approaches. He called for support for alliance candidates Kamineni Srinivas and Putta Mahesh Yadav in their respective constituencies.
