Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated film Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, is slated to release on December 5. While the filmmakers are confident about meeting this date, reports suggest some hurdles remain. A song is yet to be shot and the dubbing work is incomplete, fueling rumors of a possible delay. However, insiders claim the makers are determined to release the film on the announced date, even if it means rushing the post-production process. Amid the final touches, Allu Arjun is reportedly focused on the film’s box-office performance. According to sources, the actor has urged the producers to push for a significant hike in ticket prices, up to Rs 600, across the Telugu states. However, such hikes require government approval, and the decision is yet to be finalized.
Meanwhile, whispers from Allu Arjun’s PR team suggest the actor has taken a staggering Rs 300 crore remuneration for Pushpa 2. Industry insiders are skeptical, given that the film’s production budget is estimated to be between Rs 600 and Rs 700 crore.
The first installment, Pushpa: The Rise, didn’t perform exceptionally well in the Telugu states but gained massive traction in the Hindi belt. This time, the actor has strategically focused promotions on the Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil markets, with the Hyderabad pre-release event planned closer to the release date.
Allu Arjun’s dedication to the Pushpa franchise is undeniable, having earned him a National Award for Best Actor for the first film. “He worked equally hard on this sequel but is also keen to achieve record-breaking figures at the box office, proving his dominance over Prabhas in the market,” said a source. Allu Arjun seems to have set his sights on elevating his box-office stature and proving he’s bigger than Prabhas.
