The makers of Pushpa 2 held a media conference to announce the film’s collections and express gratitude to the audience for its success. The press meet, was attended by lead actor Allu Arjun, director Sukumar and producers Yelamanchili Ravi and Naveen Yerneni.
The producers spoke briefly, thanking the audience for making the film a huge success. Director Sukumar then introduced his assistant directors, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the film. Sukumar’s gesture of recognising each assistant director by name and highlighting their specific contributions was particularly noteworthy!
Allu Arjun then took to the stage, expressing his gratitude for the film’s success. However, he surprisingly forgot the name of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh’s cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh’s names respectively.
Allu began by thanking the producers for investing in the film and believing in him and Sukumar. “Behind every film’s success lies the hard work of many individuals,” he said. “However, I attribute my success solely to Sukumar. While people praise my performance, I believe the entire credit goes to Sukumar.” Arjun then attempted to thank the Telangana Government and its chief minister but paused, struggling to recall the chief minister’s name. After a brief pause, he asked for water and then continued, eventually mentioning Revanth Reddy’s name.
He also thanked the Andhra Pradesh Government and its Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Allu expressed gratitude to Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for facilitating a special GO to permit a ticket price hike. “On a personal note, thank you so much, Kalyan Babai,” he added. When attempting to thank the AP Cinematography Minister, Allu again forgot the name. After inquiring with his team, he was informed that the minister’s name was Kandula Durgesh. Arjun then pretended to have known the name all along, thanking the minister for his support. Some have speculated that Arjun’s team failed to prepare him adequately for his speech.
Pushpa 2: The Rule has been creating new records at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film on its opening day and the fastest to reach Rs 500 crores in just two days. This achievement is a historic moment for the Telugu film industry, cementing Allu Arjun’s position as a leading actor.
