Allu Sirish’s upcoming film Buddy is set to captivate audiences with its unique blend of adventure and romance, as revealed during its trailer launch event held on Tuesday night. Scheduled for a theatrical release on July 26, the movie promises to be a refreshing addition to the Indian cinema landscape.
Directed by Sam Anton and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, Adhana Gnanavel Raja under the Green Films banner, Buddy stars Allu Sirish alongside talented actresses Gayatri Bharadwaj and Prisha Rajesh Singh. Neha Gnanavel Raja serves as the co-producer, ensuring a seamless production process.
Reflecting on the journey, Allu Sirish shared his initial apprehensions and eventual excitement about the project. “When the poster for Buddy was released last year, there were speculations about it being a remake or similar to an OTT film,” Allu Sirish explained. “I let people assume, but I also had my doubts, especially about how an adventure-action film featuring a teddy bear would be received.”
However, after watching the trailer, Allu Sirish expressed newfound confidence in the film’s potential. “Our audience has always embraced new and different narratives,” he remarked. “This movie is not conventional; it’s fresh and unique. My collaboration with Sam Anton, whose previous works I admired, solidified my decision to be a part of Buddy.”
Highlighting the unconventional protagonist of the film, Allu Sirish emphasised, “The hero of Buddy isn’t me but the teddy bear. This film is about showcasing that character rather than traditional heroism.” He also acknowledged the significant investment made by the producers in bringing this vision to life. “Gnanavel Raja spared no expense in making a big action-adventure film, which is a rare opportunity.”
When asked about the speculation surrounding his involvement in Pushpa 2, Allu Sirish chose to focus on Buddy and invited audiences to judge for themselves. “I won’t talk about Pushpa 2 now. Let the teaser and trailer speak for themselves,” he concluded.
