Alluri inspired TS movement: KCR

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that he was inspired by the songs written on Alluri during the Telangana struggle.

He said, “The ‘Alluri Sitarama Raju’ film starring Superstar Krishna and Mahakavi Sri Sri’s song “Thellavari Gundello Nidurinchina Vada” became popular.

The fans of Alluri always listened to the song and he also played the song when he travelled in a car during the Telangana movement.”

During his speech KCR called Kishan as a “friend” twice.

He said, “Alluri’s famous dialogue that “if one Alluri dies, thousands of Sitarama Rajus will be born” is well explained by friend Kishan Reddy.”“On behalf of all Telugus, I would like to express my gratitude to my friend Kishan Reddy and the Central Government for taking up the birthday celebrations of Alluri Sitarama Raju as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It is a proud moment.”

KCR quoted Geetacharya as saying, “Sambhavami Yuge Yuge” – ‘Godmen’ are born when people are oppressed and exploited and it is apt to apply the same to the famous freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, who fought against British colonial rule at the younger age of 26 and sacrificed his life.

KCR said that Alluri ignited the spirit during the struggle for self-rule. The CM said Alluri’s name will be remembered forever along with those of greater heroes like Bhagat Singh who fought for India’s independence.

The Chief Minister felicitated the representatives of Kshatriya Seva Samiti, the organizers of the 125th-anniversary celebrations of Alluri Sitaramaraju.

The closing ceremony of Alluri Sitarama Raju’s 125th birth anniversary function was held at the Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli on Tuesday.

President Droupadi Murmu attended as the Chief Guest and KCR as the guest of honour.

KCR accorded a warm welcome to the President at the Hakimpet Air Force station this morning. In the evening, the CM attended Alluri birth anniversary celebrations along with the President. The President is accompanied by Governor Tamilsai Soundararajan and Union Minister Kishan Reddy.

The closing ceremony of the birth anniversary celebrations of Alluri Sitarama Raju is organized on a grand scale. The screening of documentaries on Alluri created a buzz of patriotism among the audiences at the venue and it reverberated with the slogan ‘Jai Bharat.’

The audience accorded a warm welcome to KCR with cheers and a big applause when he entered the venue.

Proud chapter for Indian freedom Struggle: Prez
Speaking on the occasion, the President said that Alluri Sitarama Raju’s struggle against injustice and exploitation is a proud chapter of the Indian freedom struggle.She said that all people, especially the younger generation, should be aware of his patriotism and courage.

The President said that the life-character of Alluri Sitarama Raju is an example of uniting society without any discrimination based on caste and class. She noted that Alluri Sitarama Raju was adopted by the tribal society completely and he also made the happiness and sorrow of the tribal society his own happiness and sorrow. He is being remembered as a tribal warrior and it is his true identity. He kept fighting for the rights of the tribal society till his martyrdom. She said that it is the duty of all of us to remember the legacy of such a great freedom fighter. She urged intellectuals, especially sociologists and historians, to create awareness about the contribution of freedom fighters like Alluri Sitarama Raju among the younger generation.

The President said that working selflessly and fearlessly for the well-being of the deprived sections of society is the message of the life of Alluri Sitarama Raju. She added that we could pay him real tribute only by adopting his ideals in our conduct. She urged all to adopt the values and ideals of Alluri Sitarama Raju in the interest of society and the country.
