Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu declared that the grand relaunch of Amaravati’s construction would be a historic turning point in the state’s history, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to reinitiate the project on 2 May. Speaking at a review meeting on Sunday with ministers and senior officials at his residence in Undavalli, the Chief Minister emphasised that this event marked a significant milestone in the development of Andhra Pradesh.
Chandrababu Naidu stated that Amaravati’s journey is now shifting from the destruction of the past to the development of the future. He criticised the previous government for attempting to derail the capital city through conspiracies and attacks, but proudly noted that despite numerous challenges, Amaravati had survived, reflecting the aspirations of people from all regions and communities.
The Chief Minister added that in just ten months since the coalition government assumed power, it had resolved the issues created by the previous administration and resumed stalled works. He pointed out that the same Prime Minister who originally laid the foundation stone for Amaravati would now restart its construction, sending a strong message against the forces that sought to undermine the project.
Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed that Amaravati stands as a symbol of the pride, dreams, and sentiments of the people of Andhra Pradesh.
He expressed confidence that it would evolve into a centre of wealth creation, offering employment and livelihood opportunities for all sections of society. No conspiracy, he said, could erase the people’s dream of their capital.
The Chief Minister also stressed that the grand relaunch of Amaravati’s construction aims to restore its national significance. He urged every citizen to proudly declare, “This is my Andhra Pradesh, and Amaravati is my capital.” He further mentioned that Prime Minister Modi had shown personal interest in the capital’s development, providing valuable suggestions during a recent meeting in Delhi.
Officials presented a detailed plan for the 2 May event, and the Chief Minister instructed that special attention be given to avoid inconvenience for those travelling from different districts, focusing on smooth traffic management. With the summer heat in mind, he directed that drinking water and food be provided to attendees arriving from distant areas.
Chandrababu Naidu stressed the importance of robust security arrangements but also ensured that ordinary citizens could reach the venue easily. He encouraged large participation from residents of the capital region villages and directed officials to make timely announcements regarding transportation and logistics to avoid confusion.
Ministers Payyavula Keshav, Anagani Satya Prasad, P Narayana, Kollu Ravindra, Nadendla Manohar, and Satya Kumar Yadav, along with the DGP and senior officials from various departments, participated in the review meeting.
