Anudeep Durishetty, District Collector, Hyderabad, has launched a free pediatric cardiology camp of Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Hospitals (AIMSR) and Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK)for underprivileged children.
Speaking at the programme, Anudeep Durishetty said that it is important for early detection and treatment of congenital heart conditions in children, particularly for those from underprivileged backgrounds who cannot afford expensive treatments.
Aparna Reddy highlighted Apollo’s commitment to making world-class healthcare accessible to all, especially to marginalised children. She noted that Apollo’s pediatric cardiac care programme has successfully treated over 800 children in the past two years, with multiple screening camps being conducted. She expressed interest in further collaboration with the State government to expand these services.
Dr K Manohar stated that around 200 children underwent free screenings at the camp, and those diagnosed with congenital heart conditions would receive free treatment.
The camp ran from 9:30 am to 3:00pm, offering early screening, diagnosis and management of congenital and acquired heart diseases in children
