Amenities being provided to 23 SW hostels at a cost of Rs 1.29 cr

West Godavari district Collector Chadalavada Nagarani has said that 23 Social Welfare hostels are being provided amenities by spending Rs 1.29 crore.
The Collector held a meeting with the officials of Sarva Sikha Abhiyan, EWIDC, social welfare and panchayat raj and reviewed the amenities being provided to social welfare hostels and educational institutions in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Nagarani instructed the officials concerned to expeditiously complete the infrastructure development works undertaken in colleges, schools and welfare hostels. The Collector said that Rs 1.29 crore has been allocated for the repairs and development of infrastructure of 23 social welfare hostels in WG district and directed that the Housing Department should take up the work.
The EWIDC has to undertake the construction of six blocks of Fisheries University at Saripalli near here, but only three blocks had been completed so far, she said, adding that the construction of two blocks have been at the foundation level, she stated.
The required infrastructure was provided to Penukonda Degree College at a cost of Rs 2 crore, she highlighted. Works to provide facilities to the Degree colleges of Ganapavaram and Palakollu are being taken up.
Under the ‘Palle Panduga’ programme the Panchayatr Raj wing had completed the construction of 176 CC roads, out of the 394 CC roads, in the district, she said and ordered the officials to complete the remaining works by January 15 maintaining quality standards.
Collector Nagrani asserted that under the ‘Mana Badi-Mana Bhavishyat’ progrmme, development works were taken up in 154 schools in Palakollu rural, Bhimavaram rural, Kalla, Attili and Yelamanchili manuals and instructed the officials complete the works expeditiously.
The Collector also reviewed the construction of ramps for differently-abled persons and the development works being carried out in 14 junior colleges. Five chemistry laboratories were being set up in selected schools and work would be completed soon, she asserted.
Play grounds would be developed in 21 schools at a cost of Rs 2 lakh each, she revealed, adding that libraries, toilets, RO drinking plants and solar panels were sanctioned to various educational institutions in the district and the works of the same would begin soon.  
District Panchayat Raj Engineer officer K Srinivasa Rao, district RWS officer Nageswera Rao and EWIDC EE B Rangnath Swamy and Samagra Siksha Deputy DE B Sektheswa Rao were among those who attended the meeting.
