Ananya Nagalla Raises Concerns About Public Transport Advertising Betting Apps

Police cases against several Tollywood actors for promoting betting applications on their social media platforms have become a major controversy. Among those facing legal action is actress Ananya Nagalla, who endorsed a betting app and now finds herself entangled in the case.
Speaking to media channels, Ananya stated that many people lack awareness about these betting applications. She explained that she had posted about the app on her Instagram story, believing it to be a legal gaming platform. “I had no idea it was an illegal betting app. I didn’t know the consequences at the time,” she said. The actress emphasised that she does not usually engage in advertisements or promotional content and had only shared a short video.
Ananya also revealed that she compensated some individuals who lost money after betting on the platform. Additionally, she raised a critical question regarding the promotion of such apps in public spaces. “If a public transport service like the Metro is promoting betting apps, how are we supposed to know it’s illegal?” she asked.
Apart from Ananya Nagalla, cases have been filed against several Tollywood actors, including Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj and Syamala. The police have already questioned actors like Vishnu Priya and Ritu Chowdhary and may summon more individuals for further investigation.
