Andhra Loyola MAGIC and AICUF raise Rs 4 lakh for Wayanad landslide victims

The All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) and Men and Women Aiming at Greater Initiatives for Change (MAGIC) units of Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada, have successfully raised Rs 4 lakh for the victims of the Wayanad landslide through a week-long fundraising drive.
The funds, totalling Rs 4 lakh, will be donated to the Tribal Unity for Development Initiatives (TUDI), a Jesuit organisation dedicated to supporting tribal communities in Kerala. Of the total amount, ?2,01,482 was collected by students from the AICUF and MAGIC units, while the college contributed an additional Rs 1,98,518.
The students, led by conveners Komali and Levi Jethro, took the initiative to gather contributions across Vijayawada, including within the college campus. With the necessary permissions from the Commissioner of Police, they organised collections at various public places such as the Railway Station, 1 Town, Varsthralatha, Lenin Centre, Besant Road, Gunadala, Bavajipet, and other suburban areas around Vijayawada.
Programme Coordinator Pity Parker expressed gratitude for the public’s generosity, which enabled the students to collect Rs 2,01,482. The funds were handed over to Andhra Loyola College Principal G.A.P. Kishore. College Rector P.R. John confirmed that the institution added Rs 1,98,518, bringing the total to Rs 4 lakh, which will be sent to TUDI.
Andhra Loyola College Director Bala Bollineni, MAGIC Youth Staff Coordinator Dr A. Samuel Dayakar, AICUF Animator Moses Vandhan, and others were present during the proceedings.
