Anganwadi workers’ strike enters 11th day; rasta roko conducted

The agitating Anganwadi workers and helpers organized a rasta roko here on Saturday and their strike entered 11 th day.
The Anganwadi workers and helpers who have been agitating for the last 11 days demanding the government to concede their legitimate demands organized rasta roko at Ambedkar statue near Indrapalem here.
They formed a human chain and blocked the traffic at the junction. The Anganwadi workers are demanding the government to hike their wages to Rs 26,000 and meet other legitimate demands.
Anganwadi workers and helpers union state president said that the government has agreed to hike the salaries of volunteers but did not consider the issue of hiking Anganwadi workers and helpers salaries.
Anganwadi workers Union district general secretary E Chandravati, CITU district treasurer M Venkataramana and other trade union leaders extended their support to the agitating Anganwadi workers and helpers.Similar agitations were held across the state today.
