The strike of the Anganwadi workers entered the third day on Thursday and the protest dharnas were held in various districts demanding the government to concede their legitimate demands.
A large number of Anganwadi workers and helpers organized a dharna in Chintalapudi in the district demanding the government to concede their demands including paying Rs 26,000 as salary.
In Tanuku, the Anganwadi workers organized a similar protest. In Nandyal, the agitating Anganwadi workers organized a novel protest by standing on their knees at Patel Centre in Nandikotkur. They raised slogans against the adamant attitude of the government. CITU leaders Nageswara Rao and Venugopal were among those who took part in the agitation. In Machilipatnam, the Anganwadi workers organised a protest near the Collector’s office.
In Rayadurg in Anantapur district, TDP leader and former Minister Kalva Srinivasulu extended solidarity with the agitating Anganwadi workers. He met the agitating workers and expressed his support to them. He said that except the YSRCP all other parties in the state are extending solidarity with the agitating Anganwadi workers. He demanded the government to concede the demands of Anganwadi workers.
