Animal Husbandry Minister inaugurates Basti Dawakhanas

Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Tuesday inaugurated new Basti Dawkhanas.

Following the inauguration at Gunfoundry, the Minister said that Telangana government attaches great importance to the health care of the people. The doctor conducted a medical examination on the Minister.

He further said, “After the formation of Telangana state, the government has been working to make government medical services more accessible to the people. The Basti Dawakhanas are being established in the areas where the poor people live.”

The Minister went on to say, “So far 350 Basti dispensaries are providing medical services to the people under the GHMC limits. It was explained that while 153 Basti dispensaries are already working in Hyderabad district, 14 new ones will be opened. The Minister said that apart from conducting free medical examinations in the Basti dispensaries, medicines are also provided free of charge.”

Addressing a gathering, Yadav said, “Hospitals including Gandhi, Osmania and NIMS will be repaired if necessary. He said that poor people are facing many financial difficulties by spending lakhs of rupees for medical services.”

“Keeping this in mind, government hospitals have been developed at a cost of hundreds of crores of rupees to compete with corporate hospitals. After the establishment of Basti Dawakhanas, the number of people going to the main government hospitals for medical check-ups has reduced significantly. He said that crores of rupees have been spent and state-of-the-art medical equipment like CT scan, MRI scan and cath lab have been installed,” he stressed.

It was explained that all types of medical services, heart transplant, knee treatment, kidney transplant and many operations are being done free of charge in government hospitals. They said that tests worth thousands of rupees are also being done for free. The Minister called upon the people to take advantage of the government medical services.

Among those present during the inauguration were Gosha Mahal MLA T Raja Singh and MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig.
