In a crucial meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Friday approved 14 key proposals aimed at improving governance, healthcare, education, and economic development.
Among the major decisions, the Cabinet approved changes to the cadre structure of District Panchayat Officers (DPOs), allowing them to report directly to the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department. This move follows proposals for cadre rationalisation within the department.
The Cabinet also sanctioned amendments to the AP Private Universities Act, enabling necessary legislative updates in the higher education sector.
In the health sector, the Cabinet approved the establishment of a Digital Health Nerve Center in the Kuppam constituency with an investment of Rs 5 crore. It also cleared the creation of 372 civil assistant surgeon positions under the central pool to strengthen healthcare services.
For economic development, the government allocated 27 acres of land free of cost for an MSME park in Seethampeta, Parvathipuram Manyam district. Additionally, 10 acres were earmarked for an agricultural college in Rajahmundry to boost agricultural education and research.
The Cabinet also approved an amendment allocating four out of 335 liquor shops to the Sondi caste, reflecting a move towards inclusive economic opportunities.
Furthermore, the Cabinet endorsed the 2024-29 AP Tourism Land Allotment Policy, aiming to promote tourism across the state.
These decisions underscore the government’s focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic growth to drive development across Andhra Pradesh.
