A delegation from the Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers), led by president Potluri Bhaskara Rao, met with Minister for Industries & Commerce, TG Bharath, Minister for MSME, Kondapalli Srinivas, and Secretary to Government (Industries & Commerce), Dr. N Yuvaraj, in Vijayawada.
AP Chambers presented a comprehensive ‘Roadmap (2024-29) for the Rapid Economic Development of Andhra Pradesh,’ which includes sector-wise suggestions addressing 28 major areas. The delegation briefed both Ministers and the Secretary on the key aspects of the roadmap. The Ministers and the Secretary appreciated the initiative and efforts of AP Chambers in identifying sectoral issues and providing detailed suggestions for their resolution. They assured that the inputs would be considered while drafting new policies.
The delegation highlighted their efforts to attract NRI investments from the USA, detailing various virtual and physical meetings held a month ago to showcase the strengths and potential of Andhra Pradesh. They noted that around 400 NRIs participated in these meetings and expressed keen interest in investing in the state. AP Chambers emphasized its crucial role in channelling these investments.
AP Chambers requested the cancellation of GO MS No. 5 & 6, related to auto nagars in AP, to protect the interests of existing units in these areas. Additionally, they urged the continuation of the Fire Gazette Notifications issued in September and October 2022 by the Director General of Fire Services, which have streamlined procedures as part of Ease of Doing Business without compromising fire safety. TG Bharath agreed to address these issues promptly.
Furthermore, AP Chambers suggested the establishment of another MSME-DI office in Vijayawada, in addition to the existing one in Visakhapatnam, to better serve the MSMEs in Vijayawada and surrounding districts.
