In a proactive move aimed at bolstering the global competitiveness of AP students, the state’s Education department is seeking a strategic partnership with renowned educational boards such as IB (International Baccalaureate) and Cambridge for the Class 10 and 12 board levels. This ambitious initiative aims to encompass a staggering 60,000 schools, with the goal of revitalising the curriculum, teaching methodologies, and assessment approaches.

The overarching objective is to foster the development of essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, lateral thinking, and a hands-on approach among students. These enhancements are expected to create a significant positive impact. Principal Secretary of the Education Department, Praveen Prakash, highlighted the significance of this endeavor, emphasizing that it represents a substantial leap forward by the state government. Notably, it is imperative not only to identify the areas of collaboration with IB and Cambridge boards but also to tailor these initiatives to align seamlessly with the specific educational context of Andhra Pradesh.

To present a comprehensive proposal to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on August 14th, which falls on a Monday, Praveen Prakash embarked on a visit to several IB and Cambridge schools in Vijayawada and Guntur.

This upcoming date holds tremendous significance as it is poised to become a landmark moment in the annals of the School Education Department’s history in Andhra Pradesh.
