The Andhra Pradesh government will deposit Rs 120.75 crore to 1,46,324 eligible SC, ST, BC, and Minority tenant farmers with CCRC cards, including those cultivating endowment lands, on September 1.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will release the funds through a video conference. The amount will be deposited in three installments of Rs 7,500 each. The first installment will be credited to the farmers’ accounts on September 1, the second installment in October, and the third installment in January 2024.
The government has also decided to provide an input subsidy of Rs 11.01 crore to farmers who lost their crops due to natural calamities.
This is the second time that the state government is providing financial assistance to tenant farmers. In February 2023, the government had deposited Rs 100 crore to 1.20 lakh tenant farmers.
The YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme is a joint initiative of the state and central governments to provide financial assistance to farmers. Under the scheme, farmers are provided Rs 13,500 per year in three installments.
The state government has so far released Rs 31,005 crore under the scheme to benefit 52,57,263 farmers.
The government has said that it is committed to providing financial assistance to farmers and ensuring their welfare.
