\The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister, Kandukur Durgesh, has extended an invitation to national and international investors to participate in the State’s tourism development, at the South Asia Leading Travel and Tourism Exhibition 2025 (SATTE) held in New Delhi. The Minister stressed the government’s commitment to sustainable and comprehensive tourism development, targeting an investment of `25,000 crore over the next five years.
During his address, Minister Durgesh outlined the initiatives being taken up under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to enhance the tourism sector. He assured investors that the government would provide attractive incentives and full support to facilitate their investments.
The Minister detailed plans to promote various tourism sectors, including temple, adventure, eco, wellness, heritage, religious, agricultural, medical, cruise, beach, coastal, seaplane, rural and film tourism. He stated that Andhra Pradesh aims to be a prime destination for both national and international tourists.
Highlighting the State’s natural beauty, Durgesh encouraged investors to explore the vast opportunities available for tourism development in Andhra Pradesh. He noted that the State government has granted industry status to the tourism sector, allowing it to benefit from incentives typically available to other industries.
The new tourism policy for 2024-29 aims to enhance tourism circuits, and improve international infrastructure. The Minister reiterated the importance of attracting tourists by providing diverse and unique experiences.
Focusing on youth employment and environmental protection, Durgesh emphasised the government’s responsibility to ensure tourist safety and increase job opportunities through tourism. He highlighted the goal of creating 15 per cent of new jobs in the sector and improving services and infrastructure in tourist areas.
Durgesh also acknowledged the visionary leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan who are committed to economic growth and sustainable development.
Looking ahead, the Minister expressed the intention to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading tourist destination over the next five years, urging for international cooperation and coordination in achieving this vision. He invited investors to seize the current opportunities in the State’s tourism sector and encouraged visitors to experience the breathtaking beauty of Andhra Pradesh.
