The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (APJAC) Amaravati, led by its Chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarulu and secretary general P Damodara Rao and others, handed over the strike notice to State Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy on Tuesday.
Speaking to media persons after handing over the agitation notice to the CS, AP JAC Amaravati Chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarulu said that even after the lapse of one year neither the issues agreed upon in the meeting of the Ministers’ Committee on February 5, 2022, nor the assurance of the Chief Minister to clear the pending bills of employees is implemented.
AP JAC Amaravati represented the Group of Ministers (GoM) on a number of occasions and also brought to the notice of CMO officials all the pending issues time and again. In spite of several representations to the Government on different forums, there is no positive response from the Government.
He said that with no option left to get the pending issues resolved, an agitation programme starting from March 9 to April 5 was handed over to the CS and addressed to the Chief Minister. As per the programme on March 9, the employees will wear Black Badges in all offices across the State. On March 10 to wearing black badges in all offices across the State. On March 13 and 14, Lunch-hour demonstrations at Collector offices/ RDO offices at the division level. On March 15, 17, and 20 dharnas at all collectorates in 26 districts.
‘Cell down’ (Stop the utilization of cell phones) on March 21, dharnas at all HoDs offices on March 24, visit the families of employees who died during Covid 1st & 2nd waves, on March 27, visit to the houses of Rtd Govt employees who were not paid their retirement benefits, on April 1 followed by visits to the Rtd CPS employees who are receiving meagre pension amounts and those who are not receiving GPF, APGLI, EL, leave salary and surrender leave will be taken up.
Chalo District Collector “Grievance (Spandana) Day” will be taken on April 3 and the common demands memorandum would be submitted on April 5. A State executive committee meeting will be held to take the agitation to the next level if there is no response from the government, Venkateswarulu said.
