Dr Thota Chandra Shekhar, the President of the AP unit of the BRS, said that Kapus who constitute the largest percentage of the population of both Telugu states have been left behind in all fields.
Kapu Sanghala Welfare Samithi President Miriyala Chinna Raghavulu handed over a letter to Thota Chandra Shekhar to ask the Telangana Government to grant five acres for the construction of a Kapu Welfare Bhavan at Serlingampally in Ranga Reddy district.
Speaking at a programme held at the BRS AP camp office in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Thota said that many political parties have used the Telaga, Balija, Kapu and Ontari communities for achieving their objectives.
Pointing out that the TDP and the YSRCP remember Kapus only during elections, he called upon Kapus to give an apt reply to those who are involved in vote bank politics.
He made it clear that the BRS is working hard for Kapus so that they can achieve progress socially, economically and politically. He said Kapus can progress only through the BRS.
He said the BRS will be contesting all the Assembly seats in AP in the next elections and called upon people to strengthen the BRS so that the Telangana model can be implemented to develop AP.
Later, Miriyala Chinna Raghavu from Machilipatnam, Mehbub Basha from Guntur, Noor Khan, Ayyappa Reddy and Jani from Ongole, Chandrasekhar from Srikakulam and leaders from many districts joined the BRS in the presence of Thota.
