President of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Chamber (AP PR Chamber) and former MLC, YVB Rajendra Prasad, along with chamber representatives, met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Finance, Planning, Commercial Taxes, and Legislative Affairs Minister Payyavula Keshav. They expressed their gratitude for the sanctioning of the 15th Finance Commission Grants to the Gram Panchayats.
The PR Chamber leaders felicitated both Naidu and Keshav. Following the sanctioning of the Rs. 250 crore grant, Gram Panchayat Sarpanches, Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC), and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) members expressed their happiness over the support provided by Minister Keshav.
Led by YVB Rajendra Prasad, the Chamber representatives met CM Naidu and Minister Keshav at the TDP Central office in Mangalagiri on Saturday. They highlighted that this decision would benefit the 12,918 Gram Sarpanches, MPTC, and ZPTC members, representing 3.50 crore rural people. Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Prasad stated that the previous YSRCP government had diverted approximately Rs. 8,660 crore of funds from local bodies without informing the Sarpanches. He urged Chief Minister Naidu and Minister Keshav to ensure the rollback of those funds to the Gram Panchayats.
AP PR Chamber General Secretary B Pratap Reddy, Vice Presidents K Muni Reddy and S Subbaravamma, State Organising Secretary D Krishna Murty, Chittoor District President Ch Dhanunjeya Yadav, and other members also participated in the meeting with Naidu and Keshav.
